Developing your Team Brand

A team brand is important to building trust amongst a team. A clear brand makes it easier to sell your team's ability, understand their capacity and find individuals who will fit well in the established culture. And when a new member does join your team, there can be some growing pains as they get acclimated.

Your team’s brand should be tailored to the individuals that make up your team, encompassing:

  • Individual personalities
  • Individual’s and organisation’s values
  • Passions and interests
  • Strengths and weaknesses
  • Goals
  • Communication Types

Putting it into Words

These factors can be difficult to put into words, but you can start by beginning to consider the following three questions:

  1. What is the team’s unique combination of skills and experience?
  2. How do you already present yourself to the world?
  3. How do you build trust with colleagues and clients?

The processes and language that make up your team's brand will often come about naturally. By starting to think about what you’re already doing, you will start building your team brand.
